Church Jumuia’s

A Pillar of Faith and Fellowship

In the heart of St John’s the Evangelist Holy Ghost Parish, a vibrant network of Small Christian Communities (SCCs), known as Jumuia in Swahili, stands as a testament to the power of faith and fellowship. These intimate groups of parishioners, numbering typically 10 to 20 families, gather regularly to nurture their spiritual growth, foster community bonds, and extend acts of mercy.

The Essence of Jumuia

The word “Jumuiya” encapsulates the essence of these communities – a sense of belonging, unity, and shared purpose. Rooted in the teachings of the Catholic Church, Jumuia members embark on a journey of spiritual enrichment, deepening their understanding of God’s word and living out their faith in everyday life.
