“Family is like branches in a tree, we all grow in different directions but our roots remain as one.”

As the Advent season began, St. John the Evangelist Parish faithful gathered for a joyous Family Day filled with thanksgiving and innocence. Parishioners from all walks of life joined together to celebrate this special occasion.

A Day of Grace began with a Eucharistic celebration led by Bishop Simon Peter Kamomoe. In his homily, the Bishop challenged parishioners to be lights of the world, especially for the confirmation candidates. He emphasised the importance of seeking guidance from the Holy Spirit in all our decisions and actions.

A New Chapter A total of 84 young and old candidates received the Sacrament of Confirmation. Through this sacrament, the Holy Spirit empowers us to live our Catholic faith more deeply and to witness to Christ in every aspect of our lives.

A Year of Blessings Fr. Martin Chepsat, our parish priest, highlighted the spiritual growth of our parish community, Jumuia groups, and Ecclesial groups. He expressed gratitude to the priests, staff, PPC executive, parish leaders, and all members of goodwill who have contributed to the parish’s mission.

A Festive Conclusion The day concluded with a delicious luncheon, where parishioners enjoyed good food and fellowship as we prepared to celebrate the Christmas season.

Wishing you all a Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!
