A Day of Joy and New Beginnings at St. John the Evangelist Parish!
Happiness and thanksgiving filled the air on Saturday, May 31st, at St. John the Evangelist Parish in Karen, as 61 candidates received the Sacraments of Initiation! It was a beautiful day marking a significant spiritual milestone for these individuals, as they were welcomed more deeply into our Christian family through Baptism and Holy Communion.
Baptism symbolizes a powerful rebirth, a cleansing, and a joyful incorporation into the Christian community. Through this sacrament, our candidates began a new chapter in their faith journey.
Following Baptism, they received the Eucharist, also known as Holy Communion. This sacred meal allows believers to share in the sacrifice of Christ, be nourished by His grace, and deepen their relationship with God and the Church.
Fr. Jonathan Terna CSSp and Catechist Charles Kimani officiated the moving ceremony. Their guidance and spiritual leadership made this day even more special for all involved.
After the Baptism ceremony, the newly initiated were treated to a delightful white creamy fruit cake, a sweet celebration of their Sacraments of Christian Initiation. It was a wonderful moment of fellowship and joy.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Catechumen teachers, Parents, Guardians, the PPC, and all the Christian Faithful for their unwavering support. Your dedication and prayers played a vital role in preparing these candidates for this momentous occasion.
It was a truly blessed day for our parish, witnessing so many embrace their faith journey with such enthusiasm. Let us continue to uplift and support these new members as they grow in their faith!
